Thats right. My blog is back up and running. With a whole new portfolio section that’s still in the works. Unfortunately my old multimedia folder isn’t up yet so all the pictures links are broken. I’m working on it though. I just had to get something up so I can start writing again. I’ve had so much I’ve wanted to say and haven’t had an outlet other than Twitter.
I’m going to be making some major changes to the website in the coming weeks. Until then I won’t be blogging much. Which sucks cause I was ready to get back into it. Right now however I can’t upload pictures to my blog.
Last month Network Solutions sites were hit hard by an attack and mine was one of them. Unfortunately the measures they took to fix the attack broke my website pretty bad. They got my site back up but my blog is damaged and the only way to fix it is to export the blog and wipe it. Then start over and import it back. My WordPress is still attached to an old domain on their end and for some reason there is no way to update that on my end or theirs. Frankly I think that’s bullshit and is one of the main reasons this will probably be my last year on Network Solutions.
I’m not going to do the massive export/import until I’m ready to launch a new theme. So the site is going to sit until I get that up and running. Shouldn’t be too much longer. I think I’ve picked one I like. Gonna have to get it and tweak it and all that junk.
Yea, thats it.
So, my birthday is tomorrow. Going to be the big 25 :p
Anyways, I’m trying to figure out where to go for dinner. I’d prefer somewhere downtown and something not Asian. As I’m having Red Orchids for lunch.
So far my choices are:
Blossoms
Hall’s Chophouse
Social Wine Bar
Circa 1886
I’m taking suggestions on more places and looking for opinions has the only place I’ve been to is Social. Also, after searching for places to eat I am sick of websites that have auto play music.
I’ve started a new collaboration review website. What does this mean for mine? Nothing really, I’ll still be posting reviews here, maybe not all of them, as well as on the new site. If you’re interested in writing on it please feel free to drop me a line about it.
Alright, no lie, this is probably my new favorite iPhone app. I seriously did a happy dance when I found it and saw all the neat little features. One of my favorite things about the app is that stuff moves when you rotate your phone. Its cute. Overall the app is simple and easy to use. The menu is down at the bottom with all the options.
Tea Touch is the home screen. It shows you all the options of the app in little bubbles as you can see in the image on the left. Its pretty simple and straight forward navigation.
Teas & Favorites are two basic features. It lists all the teas out. It has them grouped by the type of tea. When you click on a tea it gives you some info on it including health info and ingredients. You also have three options from the page: How to Prepare, Start Steeping, and Blend your Tea. There is also a star that you can click to add your tea as a favorite. The Favorite button in on the bottom menu.
Tea Blender is a really cool feature. It allows you to pick a base tea and then it tells you the suggested blends for it. After that it will show you how to prepare the tea. The only fault I see in this is that you cannot pick your own blends and you’re limited to two teas. I know I like to come up with some crazy blends on my own and they sometimes involve more than two teas. My suggestion for this feature would be to add the option of full control over tea blending.
Tea Timer is the best part of this app. I use it daily to time out my tea. I’m notorious for completely forgetting that I’m steeping tea and I’ll let it sit for over 10 minutes. That’s not really a good thing. This time plays music as its counting down and alerts you when your tea is ready. Also the background of the timer is dependent on what kind of tea you’re steeping.
Shop is simply a button that will take you to the Teavana mobile store in Safari.
Store Locator will pinpoint your location and show you on a map where your nearest stores are. You can also use the List view to see more stores that aren’t in your general area.
The only other suggestion I have for this app is to maybe add an option that allows you to pick what teas you actually have and get suggested blends based on those teas. Maybe add that into the Teas and the Favorites features. But that’s it, I love this app!
