Let me get on my soap box
So there’s this thing that has been bugging me all week. The company I’m talking about shall remain nameless (for now) since there is a small chance they’ll actually see this and I don’t feel like hearing crap from them.
I have a serious bone to pick with the company that makes our database software at work. They are impossible to deal with. I have one simple question. ONE! I just want to know if they offer their software for Macs. I’ve been holding back on bothering to ask for a few reasons. The main one being that I can’t just call the company and ask. I have to call, leave a message, have a ticket put in, and then someone from there will call me back eventually. That right there drives me crazy; but it’s how they do business I guess. It’s definitely not a good way to do business guys.
The second reason is that I have no other way of contacting them. Their website is a total eyesore. It looks like it was created in the 90s and hasn’t been updated since (including their awful logo). Anyways, there is no other contact info on there, no emails, faxes, etc. This is also a major downfall. This week though I found that they have someone on Twitter (they’re following our company Twitter). I was excited and thought that maybe they were turning around and getting their shit together (cause they are far from that).
So I jumped on our company Twitter account and sent them the question in order to look legit and professional. Well guess what… I never got a response. In fact they haven’t tweeted since that day. If you are going to have a Twitter account that you are using for your company; you have got to be professional about it. You need to check it often, you need to reply to your customers. Especially when it is impossible to get a simple question answered by y’all in the first place.
Just one more reason I wish we would have followed through with our software switch a few years ago.
