Poshmark really can be a difficult marketplace for people like me. I’m not some big reseller that goes out and purchases inventory for my shop. The items I sell are typically things that I’m personally trying to clear out from my closet or sometimes items from my mom. Here’s a little perspective on some of Poshmark’s features, some of my newly listed items, and a few business supplies that I’m loving.

Poshshows
Since they added the live Posh Shows feature it has become even more difficult. Our newsfeeds are flooded with show alerts that we don’t have the option of turning off. For me, shows have been a bust. I’ve tried them out a few times and had little to no interaction. My very first show I sold three items to one person but since then I haven’t made a single sale through them. If you aren’t going to auction off items at bottom of the barrel prices then people don’t want to bother with them. I really wish Poshmark would move shows to it’s own app as it seems to have flooded the marketplace with junk.
Wholesale & Boutique
With that said, I’ve been wanting to try my hand at the Boutique feature for the first time. If you didn’t know, Poshmark has a wholesale section where you can buy inventory from wholesalers for your own store. After spending a lot of time going through what’s there, I was again disappointed. So many of the items available are just cheap AliExpress items that are being “wholesaled” for what they should be going for retail. Thus, if you get them and mark them up for your own account, your prices are going to be way too high. With multiple wholesalers offering the same items, the marketplace can be flooded with what you’re thinking about selling.
There are also tons of “business supplies” that are already marked up that you can easily find on Amazon. I then came across these pillow covers (affiliate link) that someone is trying to wholesale for $79, claiming that each one retails for $35 or more. It’s insane! If you plan on trying out these features on Poshmark, do your research before you buy!
Business Supplies
I’m not really running Poshmark as a business, but that doesn’t mean that business supplies aren’t helpful. Lately, I’ve made a few purchases to make shipping easier for me. The first two go together and they are a Bluetooth Thermal Shipping Label Printer and 4″x6″ Thermal Shipping Address Labels. These two items let me print my shipping labels and packing slips right from my phone. I don’t need to invest in ink and the amount of take I have to use on packages has been reduced! The printer is compact and takes up very little room on my desk.
I also got these really cute and useful thank you card inserts to place in all of my orders. They’re the size of a business card and you get 120 of them in a variety pack. These are the kinds of items that people are splitting up and trying to wholesale for more on Poshmark.
