Over on my other site Not Your Counter Culture, we used to post weekly playlists. Over the years I have also begun developing custom tea blends to match some of these. The first one I’m going to share with you is Practical Magic.
For the high functioning high priestess that dabbles in the dark arts after her evening commute. For the ones not terrified of the forest or the mist. You, with the iron heart and snapchat selfies that would make a man eat himself alive. For the modern witch.
Practical Magic Tea
All of the different tea blends can currently be found on Adagio. Practical Magic invokes the fall flavors of caramel apples. It’s a tea you can enjoy year round but becomes a special treat during the spooky season. It was even featured in the October 2022 Adagio communiTEA box, gaining 60 reviews with a 90% rating. If you do decide to purchase it, I recommend following the lower steeping temperature that the reviews mention (around 190 instead of the 212 Adagio suggests).
Practical Magic is a part of the Witch’s Brew tea series.
The tea is available in the following sizes.
- Sample Tin | makes 5 cups | $6
- 3oz pouch | 37¢ per cup | $14
- 5oz tin | 38¢ per cup | $24
Ingredients
Blended With: Black Tea, Rooibos Tea, Cinnamon, Ginger, Apple Pieces, Natural Candy Apple Flavor, Cardamom, Natural Caramel Flavor, Orange, Cloves, Natural Apple Flavor & Natural Cinnamon Flavor
Accented With: Apple Pieces
Playlist
Originally created in 2018, the goal of this playlist was to feel like a modern witch. It blends history with the modern world.
Practical Magic is nefarious, dark, and downright fucking empowering in the most wicked way. Songs like “Third Eye Sixth Sense” give way to the transcendence, while others like “Wayward Daughter” speak to the witch with a little grit under her fingernails. Give it a listen, especially on those days when you’re feeling more than a smidge witchy…perhaps a little sinister too.
